Finding and Benefiting from smartCARS Logs | Error Reporting on smartCARS

Overview
When debugging a smartCARS issue or submitting a support request to Zirve Airlines staff, the log files generated by smartCARS can be crucial.
Procedure
The log files for the airline-specific copy of smartCARS you are running can be found in its program directory, in the logs folder. The program directory, by default, is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\smartCARS\14
on 64bit systems. On 32bit systems, it will be:
C:\Program Files\smartCARS\14
Inside that folder, there will be a "logs" directory. In the logs directory, browse to the folder that corresponds with the date of the log you're trying to locate. Inside that folder, there will be a separate log file for each time smartCARS was opened that day. The filename for each of these logs corresponds to the time they were created. If possible, please include the log(s) with your support request.

Facility Rating Assignment (FRA) Procedures

Facility Rating Assignments have been updated for aerodromes located in Turkish territory according to rating structure published on IVAO with the following exceptions.

  • Approach Controller (APC) rating is required for Centre (CTR) sectors,
  • Approach Controller (APC) rating is required for Approach (APP) sectors.
  • Aerdrome Controller (ADC) rating is required for Tower (TWR) sectors,
  • Aerdrome Controller (ADC) rating is required for Ground (GND) sectors in LTBA - Istanbul Ataturk Airport, LTAC - Ankara Esenboga Airport, LTAI - Antalya International Airport,
  • Advanced ATC Trainee (AS3) rating is required for Ground (GND) sectors,
  • Highest ratings have been assigned to non-existent sectors to prevent unrealistic ATC services.

There is no limitation for the following aerodromes to provide training opportunities for unexperienced members. Unrestricted aerodromes are;

  • LTBJ - Izmir Adnan Menderes International Airport (Ground, Tower and Approach sectors are available).
  • LTFJ - Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (Delivery, Ground, Tower sectors are available).
  • LTCG - Trabzon Airport (Ground, Tower and Approach sectors are available).
  • LTAF - Adana Airport (Ground and Tower sectors are available. Approach sector is available as LTAG_APP).

The aim of this procedure is;

  • to encourage members to apply training and exams to increase quality of air traffic control services,
  • to provide training opportunities for unexperienced members in unrestricted aerodromes,
  • to improve coordination, skills and awareness as well as knowledge of aerodrome and area of operation,
  • to maintain realistic air traffic control operations,
  • to simplify supervising of air traffic control services.
This NOTAM has been published by the headquarters of IVAO Turkey Division.
